Huge congrats to the amazing Karyna M. 🇺🇦 for her new paper! She found that mice need the ventral hippocampus to perform hidden state inference while performing a 2-armed bandit task. 1/4 biorxiv.org/content/10.110…
Karyna M. 🇺🇦 This is part of a great collaboration with Quentin Huys and L Wilbrecht, and would not have been possible without the help of Gabi Gregoriou, @alizeekastler and Albert Qu! Let us know what you think! 4/4
Delighted that our work using MEG to examine which outcomes people represent during risky decision-making and how this relates to choice heuristics is now out Nature Communications rdcu.be/dIrgH w/ Rani Moran Yunzhe Liu Ray Dolan Quentin Huys

New computational modeling results showing that individuals with methamphetamine use disorder show greater aversive pruning during multistep planning. medrxiv.org/content/10.110…. Really excited to share this work led by Claire Lavalley suggesting important model-based deficits🧵⬇️
Thus, aversive pruning may represent a unique model-based mechanism affected in methamphetamine use disorders with clear potential for clinical relevance. We're very grateful here for the support of Quentin Huys Martin Paulus Sahib Khalsa Annie Chuning (she/her) and others!
Computational psychotherapy 💫 A packed audience for Quentin Dercon’s #BAP2024 talk on how computational modeling might reveal the mechanisms of psychological therapy - and in future, who might respond to different therapies. Work with Agnes Norbury & Quentin Huys
Scholarship funding is available for north London clinicians of all disciplines to undertake our UCL Psychiatry MSc Mental Health Sciences Research - apply by 31 Aug. Grateful for RTs! ucl.ac.uk/psychiatry/new…
why is that effortful task SO unappealing today? v happy to share a BIG effort from my PhD! Real-world fluctuations in motivation drive effort-based choices osf.io/preprints/psya… with incredible Agnes Norbury Quentin Huys & Tobias Hauser #preprint
