i don’t think i’m desensitized, i think i am in genuine shock. I have seen palestinian bodies in bags, under rubble, wrapped in sheets, and shot with tanks over the past 11 months. i’m not even there & it’s taken such a toll. this is not normal & i never want it to be normal.

Diaspora Palestinians all suffer from depression but nobody talks about it in the family chats because we all know Palestinians in Palestine are suffering so much worse and it feels silly to say that the images of what they suffer for real make us sad. Diaspora guilt is real.

A lot of people really don't get that how you act during a genocide will be remembered. That includes how you treat (or abuse) people who vocally oppose genocide. Even in mid century Europe, with no social media, people managed to keep receipts and pulled them out years later.
