I’ve been dragged under the surf by ‘what ifs’ so many times. I have to fight my way back to the surface each time. I have to remind myself that I’m still here. I’m still swimming. I’m still living. I have to stop to find the good parts like the warm sun, the breeze… 🩵

Survivorship comes with so many complex feelings. In the beginning I often felt like a ghost floating between worlds. That feeling still remains, but it isn’t as powerful now. However it’s easily something I can slip back into depending on what happens. It’s very strange. 🫂❤️‍🩹

Saying the hard things out loud has always felt important to me. It isn’t the easy option. You are often misunderstood by people not living this experience. But, there’s a power in vulnerability. It creates space for connection and honest conversations. ❤️

Over the past 2 nights we hosted over 80 young adults with cancer via the art program I cofounded with Gilda's Club Madison Gilda'sClubMiddleTN it’s amazing to see the healing power of art and community 🥹❤️
