SPEY enjoyed partaking in a friendly game of football against the JMSDF Ship TAKANAMI today! ⚽️ It’s always a pleasure to celebrate our strong links with the JMSDF whether that be at sea or on the pitch 🇯🇵

During a period working with our Japanese partners in and around Yokosuka Naval Base, SPEY took the opportunity whilst anchored in the Tokyo Bay Area to pay respects to the JMSDF personnel sadly lost at sea in a recent helicopter crash #JMSDF

HMS SPEY recently completed defect rectification with the assistance of our friends in Japan and the support of Japan Marine United in Yokosuka. The Ship has now been fully restored to its capabilities and is back out on the high seas undertaking vital training for the Ship’s Co.

Thank you Okinawa! 🫡 SPEY recently enjoyed a productive period alongside, spent conducting a watch handover which included getting the opportunity to award some of our Ship’s Company with the Kings Coronation Medal. Now on to the next stop… 🌏

SPEY was grateful to receive such a warm welcome from the Royal Malaysian Navy as she arrived in Kuantan last week. It has been a pleasure to work with the RMN who have supported SPEY through her recent period of operational training.

HMS SPEY recently undertook a FOST operational training and assurance period, which involved a range of serials from gunnery to damage control. The 10-day package assured the Ship’s operational capability ensuring our readiness for tasking! ⚓️

Just like your car, periodically our main engines need to be serviced. The past few weeks have been spent achieving this, making sure SPEY is materially ready for future tasking 👷‍♀️🔧

SPEY has had the pleasure of hosting various visits whilst alongside Singapore, including the Singapore Navy, the Department for Business and Trade and STEM students from Coventry University. Strengthening partnerships across South East Asia is one of our primary functions 🌏

Two young officers from HMS SPEY had the opportunity to be hosted onboard the RSS FORTITUDE at sea this week. Strengthening partnerships in the region is one of SPEY's primary goals during her deployment. 🤝🇸🇬🌏

SPEY hosted visitors this weekend for personalised guided tours of the Ship with equipment showcased by members of Ship's Crew. Special mention to original crew member Petty Officer Andy Copeland for his final CBRNDC stand after 3 years on board. All the best for the future. 🌏🇸🇬
