This is what I’ve done. Everyone who has joined my lab has known that open access publishing is a lab policy and if they didn’t want that constraint, they didn’t join the lab.

There should be some way to indicate on Twitter when two people know each other well and are engaged in trash talking banter, not fighting.

When your preconceptions lead you to take sides in a debate about subtle distinctions of phrasing in a language you do not read, you might need to rethink your approach to the question (and yes, this applies to both sides here).

Thousands of journals have editors decide what papers to send out for review & nobody ever equates the decision to send for review with the decision to publish after review. So why are so many people trying to force this equivalency on eLife - the journal? It makes zero sense.

By the way - this was not a criticism of HHMI NEWS in any way - I really love the way Leslie Vosshall PhD & team are trying to redefine the things they're looking for in this search. I was just trying to add another angle that I would love to see rewarded.
