Biggest thing to ever come out of my little group. Pls help spread this finding! We found clean, CAUSAL evidence that the shingles vaccine prevents a good chunk of dementia cases. So, could a virus cause Alzheimer’s->YES! Hear me out & see preprint: bit.ly/3MVqXU9 🧵1/

Check out this 1936 photo showing the AM rush at Lake Shore Drive and Michigan Ave. Drivers seem to believe there was a time in the past where traffic wasn't bad. It's a myth. Traffic has always been bad. And it *will always* be bad, because cars are spatially inefficient.

8/Zoey’s parents are fortunate to have connections and flexibility to take time away from work to fight these road blocks. Imagine being too sick to advocate for yourself, or non english speaking, or unable to afford taking hours off work to wait on the phone.

CPRS apologists: The only EMR optimized for patient care, not billing! (Cf. Epic) CPRS reality: Slow, clunky UI, 10 separate web apps to accomplish a day's work, shared drive with Excel files for drug dosing

Out today! Dr. Matthew Weaver and colleagues found that #PublicOpinion supports limiting #ResidentPhysician #WorkHours, namely, limiting work weeks to 60 hours, which is in sharp contrast to current regulations that permit 80 hours work weeks. sciencedirect.com/science/articl…

In some ways this is analogous to critical care. Maintaining a tenuous grasp on a patient who seems to be sleeping away because sometimes they defy expectations and make it through with some scars to show for it.

THIS is what the ABCDEF bundle looks like in action. This is what it means to patients and survivors. This survivor said that the following helped him walk out of the ICU: 1/

The Economist just published a deeply-researched story about car bloat, and it's very, very damning: "For every life that the heaviest 1% of SUVs and trucks save, there are more than a dozen lives lost in other vehicles." Well worth your time: economist.com/interactive/un…

I know a lot of people dream of retiring to the countryside, but I think proximity to healthcare is a pretty important QoL factor unless road trips for doctor's visits sound like fun
