Every educator deserves a leader who understands how hard this job is and how important it is to prioritize being a human over a hero.

One of the best lessons I observed last year was taught by a first year teacher. She was brilliant in her use of writing to prepare for and consolidate discussion. And she practiced giving clear precise directions. Here's the video & some further notes. teachlikeachampion.org/blog/using-wri…

Around this time of year I usually deliver teacher training on ‘the science of learning’. This year I’ve changed it up to focus on: the philosophy, science and art of learning. The Philosophy- focusing on the purpose of education, the various stances on this and bespoke ‘why’…

Even more positive steps released today regarding Ofsted I feel in particular the call only on Monday will relieve so much stress and anxiety for those expecting an inspection. Thank you to Tes for this useful breakdown. Thoughts?

Loved developing a Reading Fluency training session Inspire Education Trust this week. Reading is everything for our children but it is happening less and children are enjoying it less. Therefore we have to prioritise it whenever we can in our schools- take every opportunity!
