Perhaps they returned your phones because I emailed UCLA police and comms to warn it would be illegal to keep your phones and use a search warrant to search them. I mentioned our $90K settlement paid to journo for illegal LASD arrest & illegal search warrant to search his phone.

For several months, I have been co-organizing a film screening and panel, “Mobilizing Documentary: Automotive Fantasies from the Shell and BP Film Units,” for the Petrocultures 2024 conference at USC in Los Angeles. This screening will not be proceeding as scheduled this Friday.

As an organizer of this conference who's poured blood, sweat, and tears into it over the past 18 months, I'm sorry about this outcome but I wholly respect & understand this decision. Who's not sorry, but should be, is USC administration; & that is the problem.

It seems like it might have been safe to #LetAsnaSpeak at commencement after all, given that USC pulled this event off?
