The Davis Fire is burning a lot of terrain not burned in 125+ years. It’s currently burning the E flank of Slide Mountain, infamous for debris flow events from its SE flank. The steep slopes are made of a highly fractured Cretaceous granite. Last major slide: May 30, 1983
