We are calling on the government to broaden its scope for addiction care to include the whole spectrum of evidence-based treatment options, end the patchwork of harm reduction health services, and treat addictions care as health care. #abhealth #ableg hsaa.ca/2024/08/29/hsa…

Danielle Smith's plan to introduce "competition" to the health care system will not improve services nor attract new staff. What do you think the government should do to improve public health care? aupe.org/news/news-and-…

There is no capacity for general internal medicine patients in Alberta’s capital heading into a long weekend. Read that again. Fixed in 90 days indeed. #abpoli #ableg #cdnpoli

Transferring 10,000 employees, managing 3,000 beds and 5,000 people in corrections is not something any organization can do safely in a matter of months. Smith’s ideological experiment with Recovery Alberta is a slap in the face to health care professionals & it must be stopped.

Doubling down on a lie does not make it true. Truths: 1) AHS is not a 'monopoly'- it is health authority that happens to have provincial scope 2) Centralization has pros/cons 3) MD & RN shortages are NOT AHS' fault 4) Private surgical centers do not help access for all #abpoli

"The mission of this govt is clearly to defund our hospitals and doctors so they can rationalize privatization." I wish everyone would join Friends of Medicare so they can learn more about how to support our public healthcare system: friendsofmedicare.org/donate

This happens in all of our hospitals... It's a major impediment to flow, and contributes to Access Block. Of note this is a comment on a Covenant Health facility, which shows same issues as in an AHS facility... The HC workforce challenges will NOT change if we change operator.
