I completely agree w/ Dr. Katharine Smart on the importance of #gratitude & #mindfulness as a healing practice.

But we still need to deal w/ the #racism , #misogyny , #ableism , #exploitation , humiliation etc. that hurt so many.

Individual level practices will not heal system harms.

Great article & I would urge us all to start thinking about intersectional determinants of health. Black women, Indigenous women, Trans women, disabled women, older women- all experience much lower quality care.

Peer-support & EAPs are BASIC requirements for a workforce that deals w/intense situations & trauma regularly. These remain individual-focused interventions that don't address institutionally ingrained practices of exploitation & humiliation. We must aim higher.
