The Swedish government has decided to send a medical trauma unit of up to 25 staff to EUNAVFOR Aspides, the EU maritime #CSDP operation in the Red Sea. The unit will operate onboard a Dutch ship.

The Nordic and Baltic foreign ministers met in Brussels last week and will meet again in Visby (Sweden) on 9-10 April. Tobias Billström is hosting, as Sweden is coordinator of NB8 this year. Sweden’s and Finland’s NATO membership has released further potential in the NB8 format.

NATO SG Stoltenberg has just informed me that all NATO member states have accepted our accession protocol, and has invited Sweden to accede to the North Atlantic Treaty. Sweden will soon be NATO’s 32nd member.
