Amazingly, the FMW and Hi-Tech are pushing ahead with demolition for the Coastal Road starting tomorrow despite all the procurement concerns raised and without even a proper Environmental Impact Assessment in place.

Attached is a letter I have written to the Attorney General of the Federation, Mr Lateef Fagbemi, SAN, on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road contract.

I wrote to the National Assembly on the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Road. It’s a moment of truth and whether they will rise in defense of the public interest in this matter, remains to be seen.

Once again, we are saddened by reports of yesterday’s devastating fire on Lagos Island. I pray for the repose of the departed and commiserate with all who lost property and livelihoods. Please, let’s be careful and vigilant as we live and work together, side by side.
