Hospitals in Gaza are now reporting that they will only function for a matter of hours due to fuel shortages after the Israeli military closed the Rafah crossing. The doctor I interviewed was at the European Hospital. It has now run out of fuel and is in blackout.

Gaza Families Reunited In her closing remarks Cat Smith MP is absolutely right that we have been shouting at the screen watching the government minister's statement. Especially the bit about how many available appointments there are to submit biometric data in Egyptian visa centres, dear God 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

There was not one MP from any party at this WM debate that didn't speak in favour of an urgent visa scheme for Palestinians to reunite with UK family members. With Ukraine, it happened in weeks. With Gaza, the UK Government still says: "Nope". Shameful thenational.scot/news/24317550.…

As our MP Andy Slaughter said just now in Westminster, we and people from across West London have long been calling for the rights of Palestinians to join their family here in the UK and be granted refuge like other groups we support. Above all, there must be a #ceasefirenow.

Not only does the UK Government refuse to push for an immediate & permanent ceasefire, to stop arming Israel, & to support ICJ rulings & measures. It also refuses to protect & reunite Palestinian families impacted as a result of all of the above. We need a Gaza Family Scheme.

Today I attended a parliamentary debate on the Gaza Families Reunited petition, which I fully support. To save lives in Gaza, we must demand a ceasefire and a lifting of the siege. Meanwhile, UK residents with families in Gaza must be allowed to bring their loved ones to safety.

“It's about being offered the same rights that were offered to Ukrainians” One of our members, Ramy, speaks to TRT World about the urgent need for a Gaza Family Scheme & his experience of being refused consular assistance. trtworld.com/magazine/uk-re…

We once again reiterate that the ‘existing routes' the Government refers to simply do not work. The UK must and can at the very least act to protect and reunite Palestinian families. Reporting on the parliamentary debate on a Gaza Family Scheme yesterday by The National 👇

Families belong together, and those trapped in Gaza deserve the right to reunite with their loved ones in the UK. But current policies are failing them. Catch up on yesterday's parliamentary debate with Gaza Families Reunited's thread ⬇️

Pleased that MPs have debated this important proposed scheme, which Room to Heal has supported. Clearly sensible policy proposal which should be introduced without delay so that UK residents with families in Gaza are able to bring their loved ones to safety.

“There is no money, there is no food, there is no ceasefire. There is no hope for those living in Gaza.” The UK Government must urgently create a Palestinian Visa Scheme, for people like my constituent who just wants her family to be safe.

Thank you Nadia Whittome MP for pointing out the need for an expansive definition of family that is currently lacking in the existing visa routes the Government regularly refers Palestinian families to. Existing routes simply don’t work. We need a viable Gaza Family Scheme.

Calls for a Gaza Family Scheme are supported by cross-party parliamentarians, 103,000+ members of the public who signed a petition triggering a debate in Parliament & 75 charities & law firms. We need a Gaza Family Scheme to reunite Palestinian families until return is safe.

🚫Earlier this year, the Government quietly updated its 'Unsafe Journeys Policy,' making family reunion practically impossible for people stuck in Gaza. 1/6

One of our members writes: "I work in the migration sector in the UK and have seen firsthand the way the government can take action when lives are at stake – issuing visa schemes and protections for Ukrainians. Yet, when it comes to Palestinians, the silence has been deafening."
