MPs set to vote tonight on what could be the most important public health legislation in a generation. 1 in 4 cancer deaths are attributable to smoking with most smokers wishing theyโd never started. #SmokefreeGeneration
Aww so sad about this but if we have to let you go Claire Rowney then I canโt think of a better organisation for you to go to. Hereโs to continuing our work together just in a different guise ๐ช๐ผ๐
Sending my very best wishes to the Princess of Wales. Sadly people up and down the country know exactly what it feels like to tell people you love you have cancer. Macmillan Cancer Support line open til 8pm tonight and all weekend 0808 808 0000.
Couldnโt have put it better myself Claire Taylor . To all the fantastic Clinical Nurse Specialists out there supporting people with cancer when they need it the most. We see how hard you work, and what a difference you make. Thank you #NationalCancerCNSDay ๐
Incredibly sad to hear that Tassia Haines died over the weekend. An incredible woman, who I am proud to have met and proud we worked alongside to improve care for people living with incurable breast cancer in Wales.
We will continue to keep her name and dreams alive. ๐
For #InternationalWomensDay and throughout March we're sharing a series of blogs around gender inequalities within healthcare.
Macmillan Cancer Support first guest author is Dr Hannah Tharmalingam who discusses how current healthcare systems are failing women.

The day The King announced his cancer diagnosis 50,000 people accessed Macmillan Cancer Support info online. That is a 42% increase on the same day last year. Itโs too early to see the increase in people going on to get symptoms checked, but we will. His openness has saved lives. ๐
Proud that in the very first item of business for the returning NI assembly the work of Macmillan NI Cancer experience panel was mentioned and Christine Campbell & Emer Smyth by name. Testament to the power of lived experience and advocacy work. ๐
Many thousands of people work through cancer treatment. The best employers work with organisations like Macmillan Cancer Support to support their people through it. Does your work place? More information here macmillan.org.uk/cancer-informaโฆ
Wishing His Majesty King Charles III the very best as he embarks on his treatment for cancer. Weโll be there for him every step, as he has been for us since he became our patron in 1997 Macmillan Cancer Support ๐
Loved meeting the talented Cancer Focus Northern Ireland team and learning more about their vital work. Thank you for having us!
