Great week in SA for the #warakirricropping national conference. Privileged to spend time learning how the business continues to adapt & evolve. Thanks also to our on farm hosts talking cucumbers, lentils, farm safety & more. Comfresh Group Richard Konzag Mark schilling
Urea landing on farm is being spread on arrival. 3 spreaders & 2 chaser bins make for an efficient job. A full profile & solid yield potential, ensures the final top up is worth it. Matt Notley #warakirricropping
Plenty of barley kicking on now with the zero row spacing configuration. Soils have dried out & the crops are enjoying some sunshine. MJKohlhagen
Clay soil farmers in southern NSW are loving the conditions in 2023. After a couple of very wet years, the crops are set up to utilise the stored soil water. Cruising in 100 series also makes for a comfortable afternoon of crop checking. Stephen Hatty
Thank you to the growers & agronomists who came along today for GRDC ryegrass workshop in Mulwala. Your feedback is critical for guiding current & future RD&E. Thank you also to Roberto Busi Nick Berry for your clever insights. WeedSmart
Unplanned sowing rate trial meant the Samira faba beans went out at 200kg/ha. Be interesting to follow the crop through to harvest & beyond. Looks pretty solid on a very wet profile. Trevor Cooper Stephen Cooper
Top quality session at Marrar with Farming Systems research team & local agronomists. Data from 2018-2022 shows the value of long term trials. Double breaks, tight rotations, vetch, N & acid throttles were hot topics.
