It’s his biggest lead yet - Khan beat Shaun Bailey in 2021 by 4.7 points and Zac Goldsmith in 2016 by 9.2 points.

In 2021, on first preferences Khan beat Shaun Baley by around 108,000 votes – though this increased to 230k with second preferences.

Not all that close after all.

These elections have shown pro-environment parties and mayors who made net zero central to their campaigns made significant gains.

Reform have won 2 council seats out of 2500.

Time to recognise the net zero row back and kowtowing to an extreme fringe was a strategic disaster
