Lots of expensive market-rate housing won't make things better anytime soon for the 100,000+ families trapped in temporary accommodation. We need to know how many of these new homes will be council & social homes. And we need to end the further sell-off of our public homes.

Brilliant article by Katharine Swindells Inside Housing on the failure of Peabody to deal with the damp & mould that is physically harming tenants on our estate. Our landlord is still refusing to investigate the sodden insulation that causes these problems insidehousing.co.uk/insight/the-es…

Too many people in Lewisham are trapped in unsafe homes! Social & private renters alike feel ignored when they report dangerous conditions to the council. That's why we are taking action in Lewisham to win safer homes for all renters. Join the fight.

1.5 million more homes will not fix the affordability crisis - according to The Economist. We cannot just build our way out of the housing crisis without transforming our profit-driven system. There's no way out of this crisis without rent control and more council homes.

The UK's biggest housing association has been fined for trapping a family in conditions so unsafe that the family developed serious illnesses. This is the tip of the ice-berg. We need all dangerous landlords to be held accountable. theguardian.com/society/articl…

London rent increases since last year: £186 a month. Becoming a member of a tenants union: 1 hour's wage a month. The look on your landlord's face when we take collective action and win lower rents: 😍 PRICELESS 😍

We're sick of having to pay the price for our rigged housing system. We cannot end this crisis without changing the way housing is run. We need the government to protect all renters from unaffordable rent increases and invest in the safe and secure public homes that we need.

Jas Athwal MP is a landlord with FIFTEEN properties. Complaints about toxic mould were ignored. One of his tenants was threatened with eviction by an estate agent for complaining. Athwal said he doesn't rent to people who receive benefits, which is unlawful. He must resign.
