Today, On March 20, 2024, at Lemigo Hotel, Kigali, HEC Rwanda, University of Rwanda, Rwanda Polytechnic, and universities from Finland officially launched the project entitled: "Higher Education Pedagogies for Teacher Education (HEP-TED)".Ministry of Education | Rwanda

The project, supported by the Finnish National Agency for Education, spans from 2024 to 2026. Its goals include enhancing the quality of teacher education in Rwanda, developing quality assurance practices,revising curriculum, and promoting student-centered and inclusive pedagogy.

While opening the workshop the Director General of HEC highlighted the importance of new documents to improve education quality and methods in higher learning institutions, ensuring graduates positively impact Rwanda's welfare and development, in line with HEC’s mandate.

The Director General of the Higher Education Council (HEC) urged higher learning institutions to independently conduct tracer surveys and employability assessments to better understand the employment outcomes of their graduates.
