After Iran's attack this weekend, it is as important as ever that we reaffirm our support for Israel. South Carolina has and will continue to stand with Israel and our Jewish community. Our prayers are with the people of Israel.

Representative Steve Moss was a dedicated public servant, principled leader, tireless community advocate, and devoted family man. Tomorrow, flags will fly at half-staff in honor of his life and legacy. He will be deeply missed.

Happy to welcome Darlington Raceway and Josh Berry to the Governor’s Mansion as we celebrate the upcoming Throwback race weekend. Darlington Raceway’s impact on our state is enormous and we look forward to the upcoming races.

I was joined by students and teachers in Aiken this morning to sign the Read to Succeed Act into law. This legislation will help ensure that students are reading on grade level by the 4th grade by implementing the latest evidence-based reading instruction in our schools.

The USS Yorktown toxic waste clean-up is full steam ahead!

The potential for a toxic waste spill from the USS Yorktown increases with each passing year. That is why we are taking action. Today, we announced the completion of Phase 1 of the cleanup project and await the start of Phase 2. We don't have time to waste.

The American Red Cross of South Carolina is always there for us in times of need, and I’m proud to officially recognize March as American Red Cross Month in South Carolina.

I met this morning in Washington DC with the Governor of South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster. We discussed how we can work even closer together on energy security and ways to strengthen supply chains in critical economic sectors.

With my signature, South Carolina is now the 29th state in the country with constitutional carry. This bill expands the Second Amendment rights of our law-abiding citizens and will keep violent criminals behind bars with increased penalties for illegal gun use and possession.
