Today we want to put the spotlight on Ukrainian pianist Illia Ovcharenko (age 21) who has been named Prize Laureate of the prestigious 2022 Honens International Piano Competition. He wins one of the world’s largest prizes for piano $100,000 (CAD) !

In Concert on CBC Music features Honens 2022 Competition on Sunday 20 November at 12:30 pm (local time) with host Paolo Pietropaolo. Highlights include Ovcharenko’s concertos, Zhang’s Beethoven Sonata, and Balogh’s Goodyear performance.
