Great to see the third round of the Oliver Bird Fund launched this week by our Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study funder Nuffield Foundation, in collaboration with Versus Arthritis: more information can be found at nuffieldfoundation.org/funding/oliver…
Had a great time speaking at #BritSoc24 this morning about some of our preliminary findings for the Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study project: or rather watching myself speak, as the talk was recorded a few weeks ago! A really interesting model for academic conferences.
📢If you're a UK-based employer interested in discussing how to make #remote and/or #hybridworking more inclusive for all members of a workforce, then get in touch with Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study - they’d love to hear from you!⬇️ Dr Calum Carson Rebecca Florisson Paula Holland Nuffield Foundation
Excellent talk from my Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study colleague Rebecca Florisson here at #ILPC2024 in Göttingen, Germany this morning: fascinating findings around how engagement with #insecurework during the early career stage affects UK workers’ longer-term employment trajectories and outcomes.
Couldn't agree more with Tom Pollard on the counterproductive nature of the current conditionality regime, and is exactly what Katy Jones and I found through our own research in this area: mmu.ac.uk/sites/default/…
If you are a UK-based employer interested in discussing how to make #remote and/or #hybridworking more inclusive for all members of your workforce, then do please get in touch and be part of our Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study research: more information at wp.lancs.ac.uk/inclusive-work…
New podcast! Had a great time as a guest on Social Footprint, in which we discussed the ongoing debate around #Remote and #HybridWork and the Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study study: If you are an employer interested in discussing these issues, we'd love to hear from you! open.spotify.com/episode/6BF7lH…
Insightful contributions from Dr Calum Carson on the Social Footprint podcast discussing #Remote and #HybridWork & the Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study. ⬇️ Listen here: open.spotify.com/episode/6BF7lH…
Really good to see some high profile support for the effectiveness of #WorkFromHome models from Santander UK CEO Mike Regnier: allowing staff to do so can improve both their performance and their wellbeing, particularly for those with disabilities and/or health conditions.
Listen to Dr Calum Carson from Division of Health Research, Lancaster University Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study on the Social Footprint We Are Group podcast talking about Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working research funded by Nuffield Foundation wearegroup.com/social-footpri… 📷
Well worth a listen from my colleague Dr Calum Carson about the experiences of people with health conditions in remote and hybrid work as part of the Nuffield Foundation Inclusive Remote and Hybrid Working Study project
Two of our project team (Dr Calum Carson and Rebecca Florisson) represented the Study at the Scottish Parliament in Edinburgh last week for the final report of the (also Nuffield Foundation-funded) women in multiple low-paid employment project: read more 👇 nuffieldfoundation.org/project/women-…
Great to be in London today for an event with our fellow Nuffield Foundation colleagues Dr Mark Bryan & Professor Jenifer Roberts on their project exploring what contributes to the disability employment gap in the UK (nuffieldfoundation.org/project/unpack…). And luckily, there's air con! 🔥
And finally, also pleased to see a commitment to future legislation to make #disabilitypaygap reporting mandatory for employers, more than voluntary, as called for by the Trades Union Congress, Disability Rights UK and many others 👏 3/3
Important caveats highlighted here by Tony Wilson on the need to focus on the need for mandatory reporting of #employmentgaps as well as #paygaps when it comes to disability/race gap reporting: in the latest figures, the #disabiltiyemploymentgap stood at 27.9% #KingsSpeech
A great morning Lancaster Castle as part of a The Work Foundation roundtable session on health and work challenges facing Lancashire employers: a wide-ranging discussion ranging from hybrid work to economic inactivity to the apprenticeship levy! Great work by Alice Martin and Aslı Atay.
