Once I set my mind to something, I tend to stick with it. When I was eight, I decided I really, really wanted a motorcycle. Every evening for weeks, I'd stand by my dad’s chair and make my case. He'd pick up a newspaper and tell me to be quiet, but I'd just stand there silently.
