To date, 35 African countries have signed the ARC Foundation Treaty, giving them access to ARC solutions:
- 11 have ratified the Treaty
- 19 are undergoing capacity building programme
- 14 countries have taken out drought insurance policies

The meetings were an opportunity to update the respective UN representatives on ARC & explore areas for in-country collaborations.

On the sidelines of the Africa Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) 2022 Summit held in Kigali, Rwanda, the President of the Republic of Niger, H.E. Mohamed Bazoum, held a working session with Mr. Ibrahima Cheikh Diong, UN-ASG and DG of the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Group.

African Risk Capacity has provided drought & tropical cyclone insurance coverage of $900M, protecting over 90M people, & preventing loss of lives &livelihoods. ARC builds capacities for national experts in risk modelling for contingent planning. Learn more-au.int/en/newsevents/…
