In Shah Wali Kot, #Kandahar, due to recurrent droughts & floods, farmers faced challenges. The check dam completed last year by the community with the ICRC's support, resisted the latest floods & continues to protect lands & provide access to water for irrigation & livestock.

Good hygiene prevents diseases. For decades, the ICRC has been improving the living conditions in the places of detention across #Afghanistan. Recently, we donated a series of items including hygiene, kitchen & waste management kits to Sarpoza Provincial Prison in #Kandahar.

We recently supported the #Ghazni regional and provincial hospitals with emergency medical items including trauma kits and surgical sets. This support will enhance the provision of care to thousands of patients in the province.

The power of sports can transcend boundaries. In June, the national wheelchair basketball tournament was concluded with #Kabul team winning the first spot. All players had a common goal – to win the tournament by overcoming all barriers in sports as well as in life.
