“... Targum Pseudo-Jonathan uniquely calls Melchizedek the righteous king, an interpretation of the name found also in Philo and Josephus. This meaning of the name was known also to the writer of Hebrews 7:2, as is Targum Pseudo-Jonathan’s note that he ‘went out to meet Abram’.
