Lots of superb #waxwing images online at the moment, but don't forget their magical trilling calls. One of the best ways of finding them. Sound on!🎧 WaxwingsUK

Pete Clement & myself found this Trindade Petrel pale/intermediate form on Sat 10:05 off Pendeen. Luckily I took a video & stills. Thanks to Scilly Pelagics Bob Flood & John Ryan for confirming ID & M Elliott comments as well. Pics are small but crucial features are all there.
So, I did a thing. BBC Two and BBC iPlayer Christmas University Challenge starts on Monday. Great to be able to represent Bangor University and be part of a very nice team. Our 1st Round match airs on Wednesday 20/12 20.30hrs Hywel Williams Amol Rajan
Could only find one Purple Sandpiper over low tide at Hilbre Bird Obs this afternoon, although not surprised with the number of people on there!
Impromptu.. in fact an accidental SBSG Women & Non-binary Birders 🪶 trip and look what we found! Get out there and get birding people you never know what you'll find a second (?) for Sheffield. Also cheeky Merlin, 75 skylark, 40ish G Plover, Lapwing back and the first distant whoops of curlew.
