We are astounded by the VC msg to the University of Surrey PGR community re the VS scheme, which states: 'To support our decision-making throughout the process we are working closely with the Students’ Union and staff unions.' [1/4]
To be categorically clear, UCUSurrey #NoCompulsoryRedundancies considers this to be a gross misrepresentation. UoS has not been ‘working closely’ with UCU as a staff union, it briefed staff unions the week VS opened, with no consultation on terms, and no Equality Impact Assessment. [2/4]

The current "recruitment freeze" at Uni of Nottingham #WeAreUoN includes ending the extension and renewal of most casual/fixed term contracts. In reality, this will entail a mass lay-off of casualised staff, leaving a mounting workload for those who remain! #SaveOurCasualisedStaff #WeAreUoN
