PhD candidate Kristen Guelph History Dept recently traveled to Edinburgh to conduct research at the NatRecordsScot and the National Library of Scotland to access governmental and judicial records. Kristen’s research examines changes to the Scottish treason law between 1567-1660. 🏴📚

In late June, multiple historians from @UofG attended the Alcohol and Drugs History Society conference in Buffalo, NY, including profs Catherine Carstairs (she/her) and benbradleyca bsky.social, recent MA Aidan Hughes, and also OK State History Department professor Holly Karibo (BA '06).
Researchers from Guelph History Dept are exploring the 'Many Stories of Duff House' - a unique partnership with Historic Environment Scotland. Gavin Hughes (MA '24) has been the lead student researcher with Kevin James, working with Dr Laura Harrison and a team at the stately Duff House. University of Guelph UoG_ARTS

MA student James Guelph History Dept conducted research at the National Library of Scotland to access manuscript travel journals. He also spent time exploring touring routes. James's research examines aesthetic assessments of Scotland’s terrain in personal travel manuscripts from the early 19th c. 🏴📚
