Urban Living Dublin Every apartment in Ireland is sold on a leasehold basis & apartment owners don't own the ground beneath their home. Whole cities in Europe are built on leased land - Helsinki is an example. So I don't accept the argument that Irish banks won't lend to buy homes on leased land.
