I can’t speak to the validity of the assertions either way. But (a) I’m glad people who can are looking past the surface, and (b) I hope people involved consider not just to the code licensing, but the community behind & governance of a given open source project.

Full kudos to the folks at Bending Spoons - they've supercharged software development for Evernote. Given the speed of advancement now it's clear in hindsight that product dev at Evernote was broken for a LONG time. I'm loving it now (though I might quibble with a few changes).

Call me insensitive, but I don’t feel that using copyrighted content to train AIs violates copyright law. When released, the content is made available for consumption; copyright prevents redistribution in the same form, but AIs don’t do that. #nyt & #musiclabels lose IMO

It’s baffling why the #britbox app on my #applev is so bad relative to authentication. I have to login constantly, and it never remembers me from moment to moment.

Golly, I keep finding more ways that the #sonos system & app are troubled after its major app rewrite released several months ago. Spotify playlists jumping mid-song, long times to change component groups, slow app responsiveness, …. So bad, so fast. Anybody else see this?

Dear Jonah Goldberg: Please become a disciple of the inverted pyramid style. You have good insights; but many of us do not have the luxury of teasing out your points from your current style. The IP would increase your depth of read. See en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inverted_…

Please Elon Musk ask the #tesla team to spend a couple of sprints extending the functionality of Tesla.com/trips, especially on a mobile device. It needs more 🧰 for planning - e.g. manually add a ferry segment, tap on superchargers on route to test options, & more.

Happy that the Sonos #ceo acknowledged a rapid software engineering plan to fix the mobile app. Two things should be priorities: Interaction speed with devices in-home, and pro installer support. Hurry!

Man - Listening to #trump Q&A. I *might* have considered this guy because other bright people are. But man - he’s like your old grandpa with stories that aren’t lucid anymore. He’s now the old guy who can’t string together a coherent answer. Rambling. Bizzare.

Hmm - Instagram: Is it me, or are comments busted? On my iPad, after a couple of lines, things start shaking, input slows, and I can’t edit. Me, or you?

There are so many UX fails in the “new” #sonos app. 1) The target area for muting is super small; I miss it constantly. 2) I can’t access my own Mixcloud profile because attempts to touch it result in contact with the search widget. The UX lead needs reassigned.

Sometimes market dynamics can frustrate me. #garmin #fusion dominates marine audio. Yet, the products are 6 on a scale of 10 for innovation. Good build quality, better than sucky controls, but amazingly unsophisticated. Yet I’m skeptical of a competitor opportunity.

It’s sooo sad what Whole Foods Market is doing, forcing #southend liquor manager to slash & burn the most excellent selection in #boston. There’s a line that should not be crossed between being an excellent shopping store & not. Corporate is forcing it to “not”. Sympathies to the mgr.
