A second wave of asters to try out in our garden, this time from Helen Picton 💞 duly potted on and hopefully we’ll look after them as well. They arrived completely plastic free, it was amazing packaging thank you.

Honesty and this Pulmonaria seedling look fantastic together in person - I wasn’t going to include much pink in the garden, it’s happening by itself I swear 💞

150 or so onion seedlings in, first salads on the right to be quickly followed by others. The ground and weather suddenly warm for sowing.

Lawnmowers for meadowy areas, can anyone help - I’m looking for a lightweight but powerful mower for paths through meadow patches. Grass that tends to be longer than a lawn and hard for normal mowers to cut. Is a power scythe the only option or can some mowers manage?

I’m excited to discuss what is possibly my favourite shrub, Cytisus or broom, in this month’s Wild Way: Outsider for paid supporters. That plus 10 plants for May, crops to sow and grow, forage list and more… wildway.info/p/cytisus-fora…

The Co-op has put millions into new venue but can't spare any money to get fast-growing Frankenchickens out of their supply chain. Co-op must do right by their members and millions of birds, and end this unnecessary cruelty
