In this weekā€™s Potā€™s Growing On? Iā€™m exploring the allotment, what Iā€™ve planted out first, picking rhubarb, easy compost and the layout for this year and why Iā€™ve done it this way. Not to mention the pure joy of growing food in the sun ā˜€ļø wildway.info/p/regaining-thā€¦

This is my favourite garden in a long time. That wall is going to look incredible any day now. Best showcase for all the plants in Wild about Weedsā€™ wall chapter.

This is why we need Green Party MPs - they are the only politicians that hold Governments to account when they break their word on renewable energy and biodiversity policies bbc.co.uk/news/live/cz5dā€¦

Probably not loving my gardening pics enoughā€¦ I swear by not using any pesticide or weedkiller products, they are a waste of money, harmful to wildlife and often people, and are not needed.

Total self indulgence but after three years I decided to get a copy of the French translation (not by me) of my patterns book. My old French teachers would roll their eyes. Anyway, I decided to have a moment to be proud of having something published in another language.

Caroline Lucas bang on point as usualā€¦ ā€œmany English people in this country who hold progressive views would now never even countenance flying the St Georgeā€™s cross, for fear it would be perceived as a symbol of racism, exclusion and bigotryā€

These red tulips arenā€™t in the plan but they are wonderful to see right now, and they come back every year no problem. šŸŒ·

Iā€™ll bet Rishi Sunak a hundred quid that sending a few migrants to Rwanda wonā€™t ā€œstop the boatsā€ of people with nothing, risking their lives. The IQ of English politics really has dropped through the floor.

Just managed to finally do the first thing on the allotment this year as the soil is starting to dry: planted out the first batch of mangetout seedlings. Hopefully theyā€™ll survive the pheasants carelessly released into the wild, harming wildlife and vegetable farmers.

And there it is. Wind (31.7%) overtakes gas (31.5%) as a percentage of total UK electricity generation over the past year. Another milestone. Look at the average wholesale cost over the year too - 7.4p/kWhr....

Social media companies should legally be made to stop pushing addictive push notifications on us. I try to turn them all off as they drive me mad, and still they pop up with more ā€œturn on your notificationsā€.

I suddenly thought, I donā€™t remember seeing RHSā€™ The Garden mag in a while. I was sent a card last year valid until Sept 2024 but checked my membershipā€¦ expired when I was sent the card. Always read the letter as well. Iā€™ve been an illegal RHS member for over six months!

Ajuga reptans - Iā€™ve never liked using it in gardens because the colour combo of dark purple-green with pale blue flowers doesnā€™t work for me. However I do love it as a plant and Iā€™ve always loved the shape. It was cool to see it growing wild near us when we moved.

This bloomin waste of money Rwanda flights idea. Surely politicians have more important things to focus on, such as improvements in health care, unbelievably high child poverty, renewable sector jobs investment and cost of living crisis. Our Government is literally useless.
