Jacob Lant This is the right question to be asking Jacob Lant , because what we know from Nuffield Trust analysis - soon to be published - is that proportion of patients reporting their needs were *not* met at their last appt has almost doubled in six years (5% to 9%)

Jacob Lant This is the issue with measuring what’s easy to measure & then marking it as success! A more useful measure would be “was the appointment with the appropriate Healthcare professional & did the issue get resolved”

Sally Gainsbury This is a frightening reality for stroke survivors: only 37% received a six-month review last year.

Hospital discharge isn't the end of the story, for many its only the start. Vital community support like rehab reduces risks of disability and further strokes Stroke Association

That’s a lot more appointments. Huge achievement. And yet the British Social Attitudes survey and the GP Patient Survey suggest public satisfaction both plummeted in recent years. Anyone think those extra appointments might not be delivering the kind of service people need?

This is extraordinary digital exclusion particularly impacts on older adults and people living in poverty. The ‘technical’ language apparently used excludes those unable to access higher education. And for deaf/ blind access to be unavailable is astounding.

Every week in our election podcast, we ask 3+half questions. 1: what’s the big health and care story of the week? 2: what hasn’t been but should be? 2.5: have either of the 2 major parties said anything of substance on social care (that has a sound effect) 3: listener question!

Charity leaders voice accessibility concerns over the consultation process for the 10-year review of the Constitution.

We've called on Gvt to pause consultation or extend it.
Without publicity, people will miss once-in-a-decade opp to comment on NHS Constitution.
Making changes to it without getting as many people's views as possible mean revised Constitution won't truly reflect patient voices.

'The NHS belongs to the people'
But if you don't have access to the internet, or English isn't your first language, you're effectively excluded from the consultation on the proposed refresh of the NHS Constitution. We at National Voices don't think that's right - and we're not alone.

It’s hard to see how a consultation that requires the internet, requires English - that is actually pretty complex and technical is in the spirit of the NHS Constitution its self

SignHealth supports a delay or extension of the review of the NHS constitution because the consultation is not accessible in BSL.

constitution is cornerstone shaping how healthcare is delivered. Theres a proposal to change it but public consultation isn’t accessible. People affected don’t have the info to have a say. National Voices calls for right to public participation in decisions that affect us.👇

At National Voices we have recognised that millions are at risk of being excluded from responding to the 10-year review of the NHS Constitution, a vital document that clarifies our right to healthcare.

Supported by over 70 VCSE orgs, we are calling on Department of Health and Social Care to rectify this👇
