People should not be dying in jail. PERIOD! Many in jail are pre-trial and UNCONVICTED, and could be at home if they had the money. Others are awaiting sentencing or charged with short sentences or misdemeanors. No one should die in jail!

As a mom, my heart breaks every time I read a story like this. As a legislator, my resolve strengthens that we MUST pass pediatric safe storage and prioritize keeping deadly weapons out of the hands of children. We must pass HB 161 next session! It can save kids’ lives!
