Fr. Bill Dailey, CSC fatherbill.bsky.social Jed Shugerman Alvin Bragg Barb McQuade It's incredible how much people are losing their principles in the Trump era. For so many it's just about winning.
It's heartbreaking. But I guess not surprising. 95% of people are just tribal, and all of us are sinners.
As supporters of Alvin Bragg prosecution keep trying to explain the case, the more clear it is they haven’t made a state case.
Barb McQuade, it is not a crime to “conspire to conceal information” from voters. The allegation is about a federal filing. Not a state case.
Today on WBUR, Robin Young spoke with Barb McQuade & me about the Manhattan DA case vs. Trump.
I explained that this prosecution is unprecedented now in 4 ways... and the danger of giving state prosecutors on the other side a precedent and an excuse.

Interesting how a vocal critic of federal judges also conveniently offers the “argument from authority” fallacy when it’s a partisan state trial judge.
We disagree on these “facts” b/c of legal analysis. I don’t see any substantive response here, just assertions, Norm Eisen (#TryingTrump out now!)
The Alvin Bragg's defenders have take a lot of shots at my essay's critiques of the case. That's understandable.
I don't get why they don't acknowledge my suggested solution to the case's substantive & jurisdictional problems, with Jeffrey Cohen:
