This is EXACTLY why the Secretary of State's refusal to engage with the Select Committee's call for Ofsted reform, is totally unacceptable. Educators need change NOW. I know of at least 18 cases of unacceptable Ofsted behaviour SINCE the 'empathy training' occurred in January.

A different Trust but this shows the same attitude as the uni of Brighton Trust which I posted about on Monday following a news report that it is top slicing 25.9% of a school's budget. This system is wide open to such abuse.

John Cosgrove Worked in a PRU for 10 years. We did out best but once excluded, children really were that. However mainstream schools are often so 'strained' with pressures- many struggle to support challenging behaviour. But some schools do brilliantly - their approaches could be learned from.

Cowboy builders alert! Is this the future for affordable homes in the far south west? Mrs C has been watching this pair for the past half hour. The one on the left keeps a look out while the one on the right is plundering our next door neighbour's garden for building materials.

And Education ministers cry crocodile tears about the 'attainment gap' while 'no fault evictions' are still allowed. Homeless children have disrupted education. In cases I know personally some have been forcibly out of school for extended periods. This shames us all...

It took some deep soul searching but proud to have launched thealternativebiglisten.co.uk today. A chance for a broader view of inspection and one that has the support of many educationalists. Proud that Prof Julia Waters supports it.

A number of former HMI are launching their own evaluation of Ofsted to get answers to the questions Ofsted should have, but hasn't, answered in its Big Listen.
