I’ve signed this Early Day Motion because very reasonably it calls upon the government to postpone withdrawal of the Winter Fuel Allowance until it has come up with a strategy to tackle fuel poverty & low income amongst pensioners. A common sense approach that should be adopted.

In 2018 budget debate I said. “We have a record number of children coming into care. Why are they coming into care? Because there has been a 40% cut in funding to councils for early intervention to support families.” The government rejected my appeal for the resources we needed.
