El govern alemany té un programa sovereigntechfund.de (amb ~€22M el 2023) que inverteix en tecnologies obertes. Han invertit €688K al projecte lliure Samba. Està molt bé contribuir en projectes ja existents, que ha demostrat èxit, i són infraestructura clau per la societat.
