Sorry but wtf. Students should be able to protest peacefully and in my view, schools should give them significant leeway. But protesters should not be able to demand privacy rights on the campus lawn and block other students ('Zionists') from entering.

I guess there’s still some question about how tight the security was getting on to the Columbia campus yesterday. But sure seem to be a lot of videos of people clearly on the campus, cheering Hamas, cheering the oct 7th massacres and calling for the destruction of Tel Aviv.

On the broader point of the situation at Columbia. It's important to know who's doing what. Students vs hangers-on, activists from off campus etc. But let's not kid ourselves. Think abt this situation from the perspective of a minority group you actually care about.
