Finally the flag was hoisted today in Brussels to celebrate and mark Sweden’s membership in NATO with the 🇸🇪 national anthem and the Nato-hymn being played. We will be a credible, reliable and engaged member of the Alliance. Thanks to all who helped and showed solidarity…

The 🇸🇪 Swedish flag was raised at NATO Headquarters for the first time in a ceremony to mark the country’s membership of the Alliance

After we proudly welcomed Sweden to NATO, we still had one final step — taking the document that indicates Sweden's desire to join the Alliance to our Treaty Vault.

Along the way, my friend Tobias Billström and I recapped how we got here.

Today marks the second year of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This year marks the tenth year of Russian aggression against Ukraine. Sweden stands with partners and allies, continuing to provide support to Ukraine as long as it takes. 🇸🇪🇺🇦
