"Money doesn't buy happiness." Yes, I know. I am quite capable of making all the happiness I need all on my own. What money buys is food, shelter and utilities so that I can continue to exist and create the happiness.

Not every protagonist needs to be broken in your screenwriting. Watching someone grow is just as compelling as watching someone heal. And witnessing resolve that changes everyone around them is just as interesting, too.

You don't have to agree with the position of the Uhuru Movement but if you value the First Amendment right to "Free Speech" you must support Uhuru 3.

The U.S. government will have you believe that our revolutionary work started in 2015 when they accuse us of "working for the Russians". But we have a long history of building international solidarity with the African freedom struggle. #HandsOffUhuru

I struggled with Act 2 for years. It was the barren desert where my screenplays went to die. What changed for me was realizing the role of Act 2 in the story. Embracing this was a huge breakthrough in my screenwriting. Here is how I attack Act 2 now: 👇

Just thinking about how much of publishing is luck and beating the odds. You can do everything right and not get any requests. You can do everything right and not get an agent. You and your agent can do everything right and not get a publisher.

reminder, everything you see & hear from Gaza is the tip of the iceberg. No video or photo can convey the smell of death, the sound of 24/7 drones, the feeling of shaking ground, the desperation of hunger & the pain of a cesarean without anesthetic, the sensory terror of genocide

I'm sorry, but if you are not getting kind, helpful feedback on your work, that's not normal. A lot of writers can end up getting painful feedback from betas or whoever and think that's the norm. It's not. Find a new beta, etc. bc you can improve without being cut down/ destroyed

if you are an agent/editor/beta/critique partner/reader, please, tell your writer when you like something sometimes highlighting what is working is as beneficial as explaining what is not
