MCS1LFC Liverpool: Then and Now I don’t think they were for bells just decorations and I read somewhere that they needed a lot of restoration but there wasn’t the money to do it but I’m not sure if that’s the “official” story. I’m sure someone will know.

Might be doing a bunch of awayday Then and Nows when I have a bit of a break in Budapest over the weekend. Looking at some of the old photos I have, it looks like they were generally able to build back fantastically well after the war and it's still a beautiful looking city!

Liverpool: Then and Now I think the plane is a Handley-Page Halifax bomber. Many of this type were assembled during the war at the Rootes aircraft factory near Speke airport.
