A Virginia man has become the fourth American detained in Turks and Caicos in recent months after ammunition was found in his luggage. In February, a court order mandated that even tourists in the process of leaving the country are subject to prison time. Kris Van Cleave has more.

Another American tourist has been arrested in Turks and Caicos after ammunition was found in his luggage. The 30-year-old Virginia man is one of at least four American tourists potentially facing a lengthy prison sentence under a strict new island law.

We’ve now identified four Americans in the last few months arrested for having ammo in Turks and Caicos, all face potentially lengthy prison sentences. Our CBS Evening News report on the latest case. A father and EMT from Virginia:

#NEW ANOTHER American arrested in Turks & Caicos is now facing a potential mandatory minimum prison sentence of 12 years over ammo in luggage. Police say 31 year old Tyler Wenrich, from Virginia, was allegedly found w/ammo at a security checkpoint Tuesday. Was there on a cruise.

Ryan Watson is out of jail on bail in the Turks and Caicos but cannot leave the islands until his case is heard. Still faces the potential of years in prison over four rounds of hunting ammo in his luggage.
