Travel Work!!!

What do you do on an international flight? I draw up 3rd-long & Tite-RedZone pass plays!! 🤣 I know, I have a problem!!!

The more I watch college tape in prep for the draft, the more I realize how much QBs are at the mercy of the play call & defense run… very few concepts have great answers for QB vs all things & couple that with same plays over & over for a defense to see!

One thing I love about…

My process when evaluating QB - both as a coach & analyst:

1) Look at play & decipher (based on experience & understanding defenses - although don’t know what one is taught in room) what read is/should be
- In other words, not just looking to see if someone else is open, but…

So the way I like to run this drill is I give them a throw to make… so when they get to top of drop their goal is to get set, loaded & throw. I will have them throw MOST of the time, on time, so that becomes their normal position at top (loaded & ready)… then once they get…

Yes for the sake of the demonstration, but it shouldn’t matter whether I slide up or step to the side once I am at top of drop bc I’m always in the same loaded position & I know you teach that to… so if loaded & I react only front foot can move, if I shift weight away from…

I would argue if defender closer to backfoot you are going to slide up to get away… but there are always exceptions, the point is if your QB is set in pocket (as the drill is depicting) then you are hopefully set to throw & in reacting to pressure, if you are loaded on backfoot,…

Again I disagree… and you MUST tell me what position your QB is in BEFORE the movement, that’s the key! You can’t separate the two! If you know you are going to move - like in a drill - it’s one thing, if you are preparing to throw & THEN have to move it’s completely different!

A little more explanation from my point of view on “front foot first” vs “back-foot first”… I’ll be here for thoughts!

Was watching a QB video today & it brought up the “when sliding in pocket should QB move front foot first or backfoot first” argument!

So you know I am a front foot first guy, bc if you are loaded into backfoot while playing QB you CAN’T move backfoot first unless you shift…

I will never understand the idea “let players decide the game” when committing a foul is a “player deciding a game” IMO ??? Someone explain? Players only decide games when making a throw, run, basket, etc… not playing within the rules in key moments?

Agreed u can’t generate power with “TOO WIDE” of a base, but the right base, which IS a little wider in my opinion, allows the power to transfer more (bc of more distance) than a tighter base… So QBs must find the right base which is not too wide or too tight!

Yes… bc his power is going away from throw, so he is trying to make throw with all arm away from his power (body)… when u do this if you don’t take all the body out the ball will follow it and thus short & left, bc he power is going left! (Also appears he doesn’t get laces & I…

I will never understand when ppl/youth go looking to harm someone, do damage to something or disrespect another? I have honestly lived my entire life NEVER intentionally looking to do any of those things, that has to be the norm correct?
