I’ve been asked several times whether I think the Leics Police Commissioner should also have oversight of the Fire & Rescue Service, as is the case in some areas. My response: no. I do not think that should happen and it’s not something I have any interest in pursuing. (1/2)

We need close partnership working across 999 services, and I will always strive to deliver that as PCC - however the Police and Fire services are very different and should have their own distinct governance and accountability arrangements. (2/2)

🚨NEW | Fire employers have made a pay offer to all firefighters and control staff. It includes: 🔥 A 4% pay increase 🔥 Up to a 50% increase in the retainer fee for RDS firefighters: from 10% to 15% in the top rate 🔥 A new minimum maternity entitlement of 26 on full pay [1/3]

The offer will go to a ballot of FBU members. The FBU executive council has unanimously recommended acceptance of the offer. [2/3]
