I join @GovSisolak in applauding President Biden Secretary Deb Haaland, everyone involved at the federal level, and all the organizations on the ground here in Nevada who have worked so hard to protect Avi Kwa Ame.

Today I had the unique pleasure of presenting two Battle Born Education Hero awards: Christopher Parrillo and Brandi Carrico team-teach math at Towles Elementary School and I am so grateful for their combined commitment to Reno's students.

I’m excited for what this will mean for our state and our economy. Redwood Materials will help Nevada become a worldwide leader in the production of electric batteries as we continue to be the first state with a full lithium economy.

I can’t think of many ways better to start a day than supporting Nevada’s small businesses, so I was happy to visit Cafe Con Papi, a Latino-owned coffee shop in Reno. Be sure to check them out!

I join so many Nevadans in thinking of Sen. Harry Reid on what would have been his 83rd birthday. It’s not lost on me that he was once Lt. Governor of our great state as well, and I think about him every time I sit at my desk. Thank you for your inspiration. (📷: Las Vegas Review-Journal)

The worst fear of any educator or parent was that something would happen at school. Ten years on from Sandy Hook, I can't stop thinking about that tragedy, and what we as a nation can do to stop gun violence. Today we honor the 20 children and six educators who lost their lives.

I'm grateful to @GovSisolak and the IFC for their work all year, including today's investments in health care workforce, housing, state workers and school meals for students. All important programs, and ones I'm glad to see approved. See the Governor's thread for details.
