Today’s #Archive30 theme is #SomethingScary and our Speaking Out Project Archivist was terrified when she saw how many staples she had to remove from this bundle of call cards 😱
You can read more about the horrors of staples and paperclips in this blog: shorturl.at/ckoEF

Below: #illustrations showing conditions, injuries & procedures related to the field of #neurosurgery . These drawings recorded the ground-breaking neurosurgical practice of Prof. Norman Dott.
The #Archive30 theme today is #SomethingSmall !
On the left is a small padlock and key with the label 'Key of R.I. (Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh) Seal' 🗝️
On the right is one of the Infirmary's Seal Presses.

Not only is this postcard of the synth pop duo 'Erasure' a great example of #ArchiveFashion it also shows the innovative ways the Take Care campaign (1980s-1990s) used contemporary pop-culture to raise awareness around HIV/AIDS and safe sex.

The Simpson Memorial Maternity Pavilion Special Care Unit opened its doors in 1968, offering facilities for premature babies, and babies needing specialist nursing – now that’s a #MiniMilestone ! #Archive30
The first donation of this year featured items about patient diet, including a book of recipes owned by dietitian Mary Cooper. Many recipes are for gluten (or low gluten) diets – in wheat starch, gluten is removed to a trace level, hence its use here! #Archive30 #SomethingNew
