On this day in 1948 Empire Windrush arrived at Tilbury Docks from the Caribbean. On board 1,000 passengers from Commonwealth countries who had answered a call from the UK Government to leave their homes and help rebuild the nation after WW2. Today is #WindrushDay ❤️
