Everyone has times where their confidence level falls. The best players learn to reframe their minds & put it aside. Doing that increases belief in themselves. Redirecting thoughts/actions toward positivity helps you find the balance to perform at normal levels on a daily basis.

Great leaders separate themselves consistently. They complete in conditioning, finish every rep & workout & do it every single day, even when they don’t feel like it. They lead by example & constantly prove themselves to their team & coaches! Great leaders WIN each and every day!

Coaches: Please don’t be the coach who shouts your players failures, but whispers their accomplishments. Kids know when they’ve messed up. They don’t need it broadcast for everyone else, but when they succeed, at even the smallest thing, celebrate it! Positive attention matters!

Do your words match your dreams, your training match your aspirations, your actions match your commitments? Your work ethic has to match up. You must have an unshakable faith in yourself & leave your comfort zone behind. You won’t achieve your dreams by staying in cruise control!

Parents: Let your kids be coached. Let them get used to coaches holding them accountable. If you save your children from discomfort, you often keep them from realizing their own strength & abilities. Let them grow their character so they can become confident, independent adults!

Players: If coaches feel like they have to coach your effort, they’ll most likely move on. There’re so many players who want it that it’s wasted time to push the ones who don’t. When you’re ready to get after it, you just may learn something. The 1st lesson is always work ethic!

Everyone wants a coach who’s passionate, dedicated, knowledgeable, but none of that determines a coach’s true worth. The best coaches are the ones who grow their players by impacting/improving not only their players’ performances & abilities, but also their lives & their futures!

Your biggest competition will always be mindset. It’s a battle you’ll constantly fight. If you let it, it’ll make excuses & get you to blame circumstances. It’ll try to keep you soft; it’s made to protect you, but the truth is, it’s all in your head. Your body is fully capable!

The purpose of practice is skill development, not image management. So, don't be afraid to look bad in practice by trying new things in order to play well in competition.
